Notices

We have made some permanent changes and are taking precautionary measures to safely collect your recycling. Most of it is sent directly to processors because the Recycle Depot and Bottle Depot may close again. Empties for all Camrose residents are picked up for free. Just let us know where to go.

City Hall reopened the recycle depot  in June, 2020 and rejected Kingsssdotca Inc.'s proposal to operate it when it closed down.  Mother Nature thanks you for recycling and regardless of what happens to any recycle center in Alberta, your recycling will always have value to us.

NEW CHANGES

Only clear glass, and batteries have been added to this page since the reopening of the recycle depot. Cereal boxes, Detergent boxes and Paper tubes are categorized as cardboard  and must always be made as flat as possible.

All cardboard must be separated from any other items for recycle. Please use a box or a bag to contain it. Cut large cardboard so it is less than 1 square meter.

Loose tin lids, single use paper coffee/soda cups, and Tetra Paks or cartons which contained anything other than juices or milks will be rejected and left behind in your Bluebox when you forget. Go to How It Works below for more details. The good news is Kingsssdotca Inc. will eventually be accepting these items for making PaperPlasticWood products, and we will let you know at that time.

Now offering FREE pickup of cordless and appliances that have electric motors or any eCycle stuff (electronic things). When your unsure, just ask us.

Paper pet food bags are rejected at the depot now. Please reuse the plastic ones.

When something is left behind in your Bluebox, it is probably garbage, and MUST be EMPTIED out before your next pick-up.

Important: Let us know if you are not completely satisfied with service for any reason

How It Works for REGULAR/DOORSTEP SERVICE

Everyone take appropriate measures so your stuff doesn't blow away!

The BLUEBOX is for heavier items and must be in plain view so the driver knows where to stop.

25 LBS. is the maximum single weight of a box/bag. When you have an unusual load of stuff, add one more box or contact us for Special pickup.

We take more for recycling, than any other company

Note: When using Regular/Doorstep/SSS Service, the following items are to be separated in bags knotted shut.

Rinse all your containers, and toss out the caps and lids unless you see the recycle logo.

  • Old Newspapers/Flyers (paper with serrated edges) - in a plastic bag because if it gets wet, it has no value. (See Paper Definitions below)
  • Magazines (Glossy & Shiny) - go in the bottom loose (see Paper Definitions below)
  • Any Electronics/Rechargeable Batteries (use a plastic bag) unless they are big things like car batteries.
  • Flattened Cardboard only  (1 square meter maximum size) if you have too much for the Bluebox, bundle them/use another box/call us to request a Bulk Bag for a Special Pickup. When left loose on the ground, cardboard will blow away.
  • DVDs, CDs, and Ink Cartridges in a plastic bag
  • ALL Plastic bags go into a plastic bag tied shut (remove zippers, hard plastic, or metal) Plastic Bags and Hard Plastics must be separated from each other.
  • Office Paper in an envelope/plastic/reusable bag (scroll down to see Paper Definitions)
  • Mixed Paper in a paper/plastic/reusable bag (see Paper Definitions)
  • Food cans go into a bag. (for cardboard body tins, separate the tin from the cardboard or they are garbage. The easy way is to soak it in hot water for and hour first. Trap loose tin lids inside a larger can.
  • All drink containers (empties) including Boost, milk, Juices etc. go into a plastic bag for added weight
Hard plastics--Plastics must have #1,2,4,5, or 7 in the recycle symbol on it (usually on the bottom). These go into a large translucent/transparent bag. Pay close attention for #6 plastics - coffee lids, Styrofoam, and some mini yogurts because they are all garbage.

When you have 3 or less of a small item (tin or plastics), wait till you have more to fill a bag.

Please, contact us @ 780-608-5723 when you’re unsure about any of this information!!!

Notes: Shredded Paper always goes into a separate plastic bag knotted shut.

Clothing Donations for Centracam's Emergency Clothing & Furniture Depot (E.C.F.D.) goes into a translucent/transparent plastic bag and please, call us for large donations.

Always let us know ASAP when your Bluebox goes missing. We are committed to providing you with the highest level of customer satisfaction possible, so please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, we'd love to hear from you.

Please remember, if your recycling is not picked up on your regular day, stay calm. You may have just been missed and when it is still out there at noon the following day, call us ASAP, so we can make the pickup.
